Imperfect Angel

I was introduced to Mariah Carey by a friend when I was 20 years old. “Have a listen to this,” he said, “you’ll love it.” So I listened to ‘Hero’ for the first time and I had goosebumps the whole day. Since then, this angelic voice has been my favorite pet. I remember sharing the same song with my students and they were like, “Is this the same Mariah Carey we saw on MTV?” I know, she’s changed a lot these days. But the sweet voice is always there, no matter how imperfect or deviant the form is. Oh, the latest CD that I bought here is not for me. It’s a birthday gift for my dear God-brother.
Happy Birthday, Felix. May you fly high above there to the beautiful rainbow like a giant butterfly, like an Imperfect Angel.
